Finishing off a great few days guiding and teaching Scotty from Sydney. Super fun ticking off the browns and bows during his second fly fishing experience with me. Always good when all goes to plan despite working around the weather. Pushing it hard using new techniques and quality gear! Scott kindly writes: Few sneaky days in NZ throwing flys around under the guidance of Rob Vaz of Robfish Fly Fishing Aotearoa. See below for a few snaps. To say it was a great trip would be an understatement. Battled some tricky and changing weather but thanks to perseverance we managed many good fish and even more good times. Rob is undoubtedly in the elite level of fishing guides. Highly skilled, very knowledgeable and unendingly patient (which is good for anyone but especially a beginner like me who doesn’t practice his casting as much as he should). He almost seems to have a sixth sense for what’s going on with the water and the fish. He plans ahead but is very adaptable to conditions, which saw us prevail when others were clearly not bothering. I’ve fished with Rob twice now and am already booked in for a third trip. I would whole heartedly recommend him to anyone heading to the central North Island of NZ wanting to have a great fishing trip. Thanks again Rob, see you soon
